Remake PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag: Where to Buy This Classic Style for Less!

Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with the PRADA Re-Edition 2005 bag lately. It’s, like, the perfect mix of classic and trendy, you know? But the price tag? Oof. Not in my budget right now. So I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” Challenge accepted!

First things first, I started hitting up the internet, trying to find out everything I could about this bag. I dug through tons of websites and even some old fashion forums. I found out that they made a bunch of these Re-Edition bags from back in the day, like 2000 and 2005, which is pretty cool. They’re like old-school styles brought back to life. Also, there are websites say they got all these bags, made to look like the real deal.

Then, I started planning. I needed to figure out what materials I’d need, the size, the shape, all that stuff. I spent hours sketching and measuring, making sure everything was just right. This was way harder than I thought it would be! There was a lot of starting over, let me tell you. The original Re-Edition is made of this special Re-Nylon stuff, but I decided to go with a different material that’s a bit easier to work with, but still has a similar look.

  • First, I made a pattern. This took forever! I’m not a pro or anything, so there was a lot of trial and error.
  • Then, I cut out all the pieces from my fabric, I chose a thick black nylon that I found at a local fabric store.
  • Next, I started sewing. This was probably the hardest part. I broke a few needles, messed up the stitching a couple of times, but I kept going.
  • Finally, I added the hardware. I found some cool silver chains and a little PRADA-looking tag online. They’re not real PRADA, obviously, but they look pretty close!

The zipper on the Re-Edition 2000, it’s just enough for your important stuff, your cash, keys, and maybe a little mirror, which is perfect. It’s not some giant bag, but it gets the job done. I tried my best to copy that. It was tricky, but I managed to get a zipper on there that works pretty good.

The Final Result

After many late nights and a whole lot of effort, I finally finished my PRADA Re-Edition 2005 remake! It’s definitely not a perfect replica, but I’m actually really proud of it. It’s got that same cool, classic vibe as the original, and it was way cheaper to make. Plus, I learned a lot in the process! It turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. It’s got that same, like, early 2000s style, and it’s the perfect size for all my stuff. I’m already planning on making another one, maybe in a different color next time! Might even try to remake the 2000 version. We’ll see!
