Like checkin’ a chicken for eggs. You don’t want no empty nest. These fancy watches, they have numbers on them. Like a brand on a cow. You gotta check the numbers. Make sure they’re right. My grandson, he knows about this stuff. He’s got a good eye for these things. One time, I saw a number 295859 on this kind of watch. Some people tell me that’s the number of a Grand Sport model, but I just know nothing about it.
The Watchmaker’s Watchmaker
They say this Jaeger-LeCoultre, it’s the watchmaker’s watchmaker. Whatever that means. Must be the best of the best, I reckon. Like the cream of the crop. The top dog. The head honcho. Is it Worth the Money?
Now, I don’t know much about these fancy watches. But I know they cost a pretty penny. More than I got in my whole life, I reckon. But some folks, they say it’s worth it. They say it’s a good value. Like a good workhorse. It’ll last a long time. Maybe even longer than me! They said you gotta be mature to wear one of these. I reckon I’m mature enough. Been around the block a few times. Seen a thing or two. They said this watch, it’s like an heirloom. Somethin’ you pass down to your kids. Like my grandma’s quilt. They say it goes with everything. Jeans, sneakers, even a polo shirt. I don’t know what a polo shirt is, but it sounds fancy. This watch, it’s like a secret. A secret only fancy folks know.
